Marianne's Story

Hi all Bel Air High School students, when I graduated in 1966, I was called Mary Hall but I now use my entire first name Marianne and my surname is Little now so I am Marianne Little. I would be interested in finding some of my old classmates and catch up. I have brand new exciting news as I am engaged to be married to my best friend of 30 yrs and we will be married by or on Christmas and go to the South of France for our honeymoon. It is awesome to be madly in love at 60 yrs old... I modeled and jet-set in Europe for 7 years and had an awfully good time before I came back to Texas and made my Dad happy by going back to University of Houston Clear Lake. Many of you know he was in the space program. I also have 5 university degrees [all honors and all straight As, Phi Kappa Phi, etc] and just got 2 brandnew Masters that I completed with straight 100s! I have 2 children still alive and I have 8 grandchildren that range from 18 to 29 mos. I am an internationally published author. You can find my book on Texas Ranger Captain Leander McNelly on Amazon.com I co-authored it with Chuck Parsons and Texas Governonr Dolph Briscoe wrote the introduction. I also have published over 15 family histories. And have 2 other books about to be published on Texas History. I have a small pecan farm in a sleepy little village in the middle of nowhere, Texas which my ancestors settled in 1840. Turned out that this 100 lbs, 4'11" lady who wears size 0 or 00 jeans and 36C top hated math and science and have 3 degrees in Psychology, MBA, MA Human Resource Management, and my 2 brand new Masters in Theology and Leadership and the 2nd in Ancient Hebrew and Education all with straight 100s!. I'm going for the Doctotate this fall at Hebrew Univ of Jerusalem where I can teach all this knowledge I eat up like a hungry spongue. Guess I am a university junkie but I love people and having fun and having new adventures. And now I am at a point in my life where I am ready for more grand adventures like I had in my 20s in Europe or just going new places and seeing new things or eating things I never dreamed I'd even try!. That's a lot of why I love being in a university setting as I meet people from all over the world and this past year got a little grasp of both ancient and modern Hebrew languages that was a totally new advent...Expand for more
ure for me. Gratefully I love studying and it comes easy to me so it is a different kind of adventure where you don't have to leave your laptop, unless you want to and you don't punch a clock except class time. Then the one who must shine hits the books and shows those 20-30 yrs olds that us little older ones can knock them out of the court as we are there to study, mostly! smiles. Oh yes, I have all my year books and scrapboooks from my 4 years at Bel Air and a ton of pictures in albums so if you have lost your albums or want me to scan someone for you or see if I have portraits or photos or especially all the football newspaper clippings, just let me know. Please write to me at yahoo under Lildoc98 as I rarely pop in here... and won't have time to do so in a few more days... being madly in love is time consuming and vastly distracting to keeping track of old friends... but ya'll helped me thru critical years of my life and I can say that I was royally treated by every male who was even a good friend of mine. And if I never told you how grateful I am that none of you ever tried to get me to compromise my values and moral standings, I am NOW. Thank you to each and everyone of you male and female who supported me thru that horrible coma I was in our Sr yr as I needed you all the most back when they said I couldn't live... and for the ones who said I was a champion fighter and I would come thru it all just fine as I did by the grace of God and good friends who came to see me or wrote cards or sent flowers or the countless acts of random kindness I got from people I barely knew previous to those 4 very black months of my life. For all of you who buckled down and helped me catch up in school after I finally was allowed to return to school, I graduated with my class with straight As that last year because of all you all did to help me achieve that goal of mine. So what I have achieved scholastically and in life was helped in its most formidable way by people I admire to this day from Bel Air High School in El Paso, Texas. THANK YOU to each and every one of you who helped mold me into a woman worthy of the seeds of blessings you poured into my life. May God guide you on the rest of your path with God and see ya'll in heaven, if I don't ever make it to a reunion. Marianne Marianne Little, class of 1966
